In March last year, as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe, India went into a sudden nationwide lockdown. The impact was immediate and devastating—especially for daily wage earners. With no jobs and no savings, thousands of families were pushed into extreme poverty. For many, even a single meal a day became a struggle.
That’s when Khidmat Charitable Trust stepped in.
We quickly launched a massive emergency relief effort, distributing complete ration kits to families who had lost everything—daily wage workers, senior citizens, the homeless, single women, migrant laborers, and others who were left helpless overnight.
With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we worked day and night to reach as many families as possible across Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.
Thousands of families received one-month ration kits—giving them not just food, but a sense of hope during a time of darkness.
